Plan
The lumpectomy is scheduled for January 6…they will take additional tissue and remove lymph nodes to see if it has spread…not sure how many of those they will take. After 2 weeks and a re-check with my surgeon, I will begin 4-6 weeks of radiation followed by chemo. Originally he had said no chemo, but now wants to do it as a precaution to make sure the cancer is gone. Depending on the results from the lymph nodes I will have 3-6 months of chemo. I feel really good about this decision…calmer than I’ve been the past few days. Maybe it’s because there is a plan now…a goal…a light flickering at the end of the tunnel. I’ve decided to have a birthday party to celebrate the end of chemo…hopefully I will be finished by September…it is something to look forward to…celebrating me being alive at 45…I will survive this…it’s just a bump in the road!!
So sorry to hear about your situation. I like your positive attitude though, it will serve you well. I think I understand the feeling better and being calmer cause now you have a plan. That makes sense to me, and gives you something to focus on.
Keep thinking positive, I’ve had several friends who’ve been through what you’re now going through….they all did well, and I feel good about your situation too. Can’t keep a good woman down.
I’ll be thinking about you, checking back to see how things going.

Thanks for doing the scarves, my niece crocheted for others when she was going through chemo (different type of CA), and said it helped her feel useful.
